Things to Do 

Evanston offers a wealth of things for residents to do, from beaches and museums to several historical landmarks. Frances Willard House Museum, one of several museums in the area, was built in 1865 and remains remarkably intact and full of many original furnishings and artifacts. This home has had many uses throughout the years, from an extended family home to a boarding school for women, before becoming the first museum dedicated to a woman's life. 
 
Other historic buildings to explore include the Evanston Art Center, in the Harley Clark residence of 1926, and the Evanston History Center, housed in the Charles Gates Dawes home of 1909. Evanston Beach is a resident hangout with sandy beaches and a designated swimming area. There is also a path that follows the shores of Lake Michigan for you to bike, run, or walk.
 
Bike The Ridge is an annual event featuring a community bike ride, walk, live music, food trucks, and entertainment. This event encourages the community to join together and celebrate health and wellness. Taste of Evanston features a delectable assortment of food selections from many of the most popular local restaurants. You'll also enjoy local beverage selections from breweries and wine shops while benefiting two worthy local organizations. There are plenty of other things for residents to enjoy, from concerts in the park to the Evanston Farmers Market.
